Intersectionality Is The Only Way Through
As soon as a hierarchy of who deserve liberation first, we assimilate colonial structures
It’s a misnomer that veganism pragmatically isolates the victims of oppression from it’s resistance to become mainstream.
There are many tools of reseitance within veganism, many avenues to exasterbate efforts due to the wholistic nature of it’s revollution unique to it’s cause. But lest we forget the road that paves indifference; the procession must pass through it.
There is no white veganism without black veganism and Indigenous veganism. But there is black veganism and Indiginous veganism within white veganism. Maybe immperiaslit veganism instead of white might agrivate a bit better. It doesn’t matter if it comes from ignorance or selective exclusion, but without the social revolution ascpect of animal liberation, we loose the connection that vulcunates and stirrs indifference. That’s where my qualms with ‘These Lives Matter’ or ‘Free So and So’ comes from. It is exclusitory, in that it funnels importance onto one social group.
It seems many resistance movements loose their anarchist ‘umf’ as the trade off for becoming mainstream. The idea with definance is that it being hard is what makes it worth fighting for. But when we make it just about lifestyle, that excludes anarchism and activism, what is your example communicating? Both within and outside the movement?
